Round Up: In Celebration of the Fish

April 7 – 9, 2017 | BHA’s annual North American Rendezvous

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers (BHA) invites sportsmen and women to unite in Missoula, Montana, in support of the backcountry. The 2017 Rendezvous features a line-up of speakers, skills seminars, and social activities including the annual Field to Table dinner, hands-on demonstrations, raffles, live and silent auctions, and BHA’s annual Backcountry Brewfest.

July 1 – 2, 2017 | The Gallatin River Fly Fishing Festival

A celebration designed to connect the community with the rivers, fish, and riparian habitats that are vital to the sport of fly fishing, this outdoor festival features vendors, demonstrations, skills clinics, and a youth fly-fishing camp. An auction and fundraising banquet along the river benefits the Gallatin River Task Force, an organization dedicated to the protection of the Gallatin River Watershed.

Aug. 1 – 5, 2017 | International Fly Fishing Fair

The International Federation of Fly Fishers, an organization dedicated to environmental stewardship and education, hosts this annual weeklong event in Livingston, Montana. With a huge selection of workshops, demonstrations, exhibitors, youth activities, seminars, food vendors, and more, it’s fun for the whole fly-fishing family.

Sept. 2 – 3, 2017 | Ennis-on-the-Madison Fly Fishing Festival

Celebrate the sport of fly fishing over Labor Day weekend, and learn tips and techniques from professional casters, fly tiers, and guides. Along with industry professionals, vendors, artists, speakers, live music, and food outlets, a Saturday night barbecue and raffle drawing will round out the event.

Sept. 7 – 10, 2017 | Jackson Hole One Fly

Three days of fishing and festivities unite fly fishers from around the world with regional guides to celebrate the joy and spirit of the sport while raising funds for environmental and educational projects that benefit the future of fly fishing in the West. Friday evening features a silent auction and dinner, followed by two days of competitive fishing in teams of four, with only one fly per person.

Sept. 8 – 9, 2017 | Museum of the Rockies TwoFly

Forty boats will launch onto one of Bozeman, Montana’s surrounding rivers, not only for a memorable day of fly fishing with only two flies, but also to benefit the Museum of the Rockies. The seventh annual TwoFly Benefit is a full day of blue-ribbon trout fishing in support of the All Things Yellowstone program and the Martin Children’s Discovery Center, both dedicated to lifelong learning about the Greater Yellowstone region.
