Re-Imagining Conservation: From Many Viewpoints

Created in partnership with Creature Conserve, Re-Imagining Conservation: From Many Viewpoints explores conservation through a range of perspectives and mediums while encouraging viewers to reconsider the relationships between humans, animals, and their shared environments. The exhibition — organized by art curator Heather McMordie of Creature Conserve and Julia Spencer, associate curator of education and outreach with the National Museum of Wildlife Art — includes the work of 31 artists from nine different countries.

For two weeks each September, Jackson celebrates renowned Western, wildlife, and landscape artists in local galleries and venues throughout the city. Free and ticketed events include the Jackson Hole Art Auction, Western Design Conference, Western Visions Show + Sale, Seventh Annual Mark Eberhard Show + Sale, Jackson Hole QuickDraw, art walks, receptions, gallery tours, and more.

For 31 years, this premier four-day exhibition and sale has gathered artisans, artists, collectors, interior designers, and architects together in an open showroom. “In a world full of disposable, mass-produced items, the artistry of handmade and the inspiration produced by the back-office collaboration of artists increases the appeal of the WDC,” says Allison Merritt, executive director of the Western Design Conference Exhibit + Sale. “The show is like a big family who throws a celebratory reunion each year.” The event features a fashion show, daily happy hour, and rooms curated by some of the best regional interior designers.

Buffalo Bill Rendezvous Royale

A collaboration between the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, By Western Hands, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, the 42nd annual Rendezvous Royale week-long arts invitational will include workshops, lectures, classes, studio tours, receptions, Scout’s Miniature Sale, the Annual Downtown Cody Art Walk, and more. The culminating highlight of the Royale, the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale — showcasing more than 100 artists’ visions of the American West in oil, watercolor, pastel, and sculpture — will include a dinner and live auction on September 22, followed by a 90-minute quick draw featuring 30 artists and brunch the next day.

A highlight of Western Art Week in Great Falls, the Out West Art Show & Sale features painters and sculptors from across the U.S. and Canada in an intimate format. The three-day event hosts a quick draw, quick finish, live music, and an awards ceremony for the Young Masters Program, an artist-run mentoring program for Montana high school students. Managed by a cooperative of artists and enthusiasts, the show is a major fundraiser for the Out West Art Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the work and growth of current and future artists.
