Jared Greenwood’s handcrafted pieces harken back to the golden age of travel while serving as functional home decor. Constructed from high-quality materials, each piece is made to order in his Boise, Idaho-based studio, where cuts are performed manually, nails are individually set, and seams are sewn by hand. Big game hunters can also have their animal skins and hides made into custom pieces.

Twin Sisters Lamps by TimberFire Studio

Joe Adams and Erich Elfeldt started TimberFire Studio with a shared passion for traditional craftsmanship and functional works of art. From their Texas-based studio, they create heirloom-quality furniture, decor, and lighting with Western flair. These matching table lamps are made from Texas mesquite wood — accented with hard maple, Gaboon ebony inlays, and steel elements — and feature faux rawhide shades, silver-plated conchos, and leather rosettes.

Fabric Deer Mount by Near and Deer

The idea was conceived through a compromise by the husband and wife founders; as an avid hunter, he wanted to hang animal mounts in their home, whereas she didn’t want real taxidermy displayed. Lolo Folding Chair by Old Hickory

In 2018, interior designer Jeremiah Young —principal of the Montana-based company Kibler & Kirch — was named creative director of Indiana-based furniture company Old Hickory. A second-generation saddle maker, Wyoming native John Blair applies his leather carving skills to create bespoke decorative pieces, such as this Doctor’s Bag. Featuring a basket-stamped bottom with brass feet and a soft black water buffalo lining, the bag’s sides are bound by striking black kangaroo laces. Blair stains the background and applies an antique finish and wax before hand-rubbing it to create a European-style finish.
