The Cody Stampede Turns 100
The 100th Annual Cody Stampede Celebration kicks off July 1 and runs through July 4. Honoring a century of rodeo in a town that’s often referred to as the “Rodeo Capital of the World,” parades will highlight the history, and fireworks will serve as the center of the event.
Officially starting in 1919, the annual Cody Stampede Rodeo established the Wyoming town as the site of not only one of the longest-running, successful professional rodeos, but also the only place in the country that has a rodeo performance nightly. In honor of the 100th anniversary, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West presents Whoop It Up! Celebrating 100 Years of the Cody Stampede, featuring vintage photographs, artwork, artifacts, film footage, and more, running June 7 through March 31, 2020; codystampederodeo.com.
