Round Up: Under the Big Sky is Back

While music lovers around the world are chomping at the bit — ready to once again experience live performances — the Under The Big Sky Festival is set to deliver an all-star lineup for 2021. Held at Big Mountain Ranch, a 350-acre working farm just outside of Whitefish, near Montana’s Glacier National Park, the site has been expanded to provide attendees with more space to coincide with the 180-degree views of Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort and other surrounding peaks.

Under The Big Sky — which hosted their inaugural event in 2019 and was forced to cancel last summer due to COVID-19 — is designed to showcase the best in Americana, folk, alt-country, and rock, pairing emerging talent with musical icons to create a unique outdoor event for all ages. The 2021 line-up, July 17 and 18, includes Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Tyler Childers, Emmylou Harris, Elle King, Brothers Osborne, Colter Wall, Shovels & Rope, Lucinda Williams, Orville Peck, Mandolin Orange, Jade Bird, and more.

Although there’s no on-site lodging, a shuttle will bring guests to a 40-acre campground a few miles away, and there are additional lodging options in Whitefish and the surrounding area. For tickets, COVID policies, and information, visit underthebigskyfest.com.
